Women build communities. They educate and advocate. They create change. Many women living in the poorest parts of the planet are making progress against enormous odds. But their progress can be accelerated if we stand together as ONE. To halt the spread of malaria and HIV. To protect mothers. To put millions of kids in school. To create more women entrepreneurs.
Yet despite this an estimated 70% of people living in extreme poverty are women.
But study after study has shown that by empowering women we can help bring communities out of poverty and transform the lives of millions. Each woman is powerful on her own, but joined together we can go beyond.
