End companion animal killing & cruelty

Please help to stop the breeding of companion animals, "pets." There are too many cats and dogs! It's simply not right to kill companion animals - just for more choices Adopt an animal already born!

HARSH realities of being a pet/companion animal:
~If you are specially selected in time you MIGHT live. If you are extra you MIGHT die, nothing secures your safety!~
Please stop killing pets only to breed more, with no secure future! Thousands of cats and dogs are already being born daily -- healthy, happy to be alive, and ready for a companion just like you...

Adopt, foster, volunteer, donate to help animals in shelters -- Be an active advocate for all animals, stand-up for their rights! ♥

HBO: Death on a Family Farm - Synopsis

Each year, ten billion animals are raised for consumption in the U.S., mostly on sprawling, industrialized farms, where virtually no federal laws mandate how the animals are treated - though guidelines exist - and state laws are ineffective. As a result, animals are frequently subjected to what many consider cruel treatment and inhumane conditions in the interest of economic efficiency. DEATH ON A FACTORY FARM chronicles an investigation into alleged abuses that took place at a hog farm in Creston, Ohio. This shocking documentary is produced by Tom Simon (a seven-time Emmy® winner) and Sarah Teale, producer of the 2006 HBO special "Dealing Dogs," which received two Emmy® nominations, including Best Documentary.

Feeding Your Cat - Know the Basics Of Feline Nutrition

Feeding Your Cat - Know the Basics Of Feline Nutrition
Diet is the brick and mortar of health. This web page lays out some often-ignored principles of feline nutrition and explains why cats have a better chance at optimal health if they are fed a quality canned food diet instead of dry kibble. Putting a little thought into what you feed your cat(s) can pay big dividends over their lifetime and very possibly help them avoid serious, painful and costly illnesses. An increasing number of American Veterinary Medical Association members, including board-certified veterinary internists, are now strongly recommending the feeding of canned food instead of dry kibble. Europeans Limit Seal Imports, as Canadian Officials Protest - NYTimes.com

In a blunt challenge to Canada and thousands of Canadian seal hunters, the European Parliament voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to ban the importing or sale of furs and other products from commercially harvested seals.

A seal hunter dragged a harp seal carcass on an ice pan off the coast of Cape Breton island, Nova Scotia, last year.

The ban would mainly affect Canada, where the government has allowed several hundred thousand young harp seals to be killed each year by commercial and traditional hunters on sea ice cloaking eastern and Arctic waters.

I had to share this amazing story, always great to watch a happy ending for animals.

We are a loving all-volunteer, licensed(ps-200-09) , no-kill animal shelter. We wish to raise funds to spay/neuter and adopt (depending on how much we can raise) as many cats and dogs as we can this year in desperate need of help. Funds for medical and spay/neuter surgeries MAY be sent directly to our veterinarian, if you wish, and arrangements can be made. We are working very hard to get a head start on Springtime puppy and kitten calls for help and wish to have funds ready to get them adopted, and not have to turn any away. You can help!

Be the first contributor to pledge! We need the first pledge in order to start the fundraiser - will you be the first contributor to support the animals at HeartReach Animal Society:

2009 Meeting in Madeira

2009 Meeting in Madeira

Hans Lak

Read all about the IWC meeting in June! And tell me how you think that the whaledefenders can stop commercial whaling! Millions of people are against any kind of whaling....but unlike the IWC that will speak up with one strong voice for sustainable whaling at the end of the meeting these millions are devided in hundreds of groups.....
Some people think that whaling is ok if its sustainable like Greenpeace
In the end the IWC will decide and the organisations will protest....
WE NEED PROTEST NOW SIGN THE POLL!
